Theme & Design
The theme and design are nothing special. We’re looking at a slot machine which takes us to Ancient Egypt, where the main character is one of the pharaohs of the time. The Sun is another one that’s important here, while the Bird of Ra is both scatter and wild. The rest are regulars, ranging from the stacked Pharaoh, to Bastet, Horus, Ra, a bird and the top Royals. It’s a good enough quality, where the design is concerned, but it’s not going to be particularly impressive in a category that likely has hundreds of similar games already.
Conclusion
Solar King by Playson should be a fun one to try out, at least if you’re curious about its main features, and the progressive wild multiplier which you can work towards. The low top jackpot and the RTP, especially since they’re combined with high volatility, end up ruining it for me though.

At the same time, all those potential combinations can also bring you a decent reward, though not easily. It’s a game where the volatility is medium-high, but the rewards don’t appear to be properly sized for that kind of risk, and the 95.05% RTP explains why that is. Among the features delivered inside, you get a wild, bonus symbols and the bonus game.
Betting and Prizes
You select the wager, and the upcoming spins will be using it, until you change it again. There is a selection to be made, within a range of $0.20 to $100, which activates the entire game area.
The ultimate payout appears to come from the slot’s bonus game, where the Grand Jackpot of 1,000x the stake can be triggered. Otherwise, I’m not loving the payouts of up to 2.5x the stake, which is the highest that a regular symbol can offer when forming a combination. Take all the ways to win into account, and you’re getting rewards of over 600x the stake.
Given that the game has medium-high volatility, the top rewards that you can get from it are way too low. A below average RTP, of 95.05%, will explain why the rewards aren’t better.

A red and gold colored Yin Yang symbol serves as the game’s wild. Though you only see it on the middle three columns, it can still be very useful, as it shows up and keeps helping out with new winning combinations. In a game like this, with ways to win, you only need it landing on a reel where it’s needed, doesn’t have to be in specific positions and lines.
